It was great hearing Pete on 97.5 today.  I listened to him on a little radio in my bedroom like I did when I was a kid cheering for the Reds.   He had some really unique insight on the game which I hadn’t heard in any of the coverage surrounding the Series.  He seemed to think The Yankees had a bit of an edge because their pitchers but didn’t go so far as to predict a winner.  Gave big ups to the Philly fans too.  He said the parade down Broad after their World Series win in 1980 was on of the best sports moments he’d ever experienced.

Getting back into the flow of things around here with news that Charlie Hustle is gonna be hosting his own show here in Philadelphia on 97.5 The Fanatic.  On the site it says that Pete is gonna be co-hosting but on the station they’ve been promoting it as his own show.  I’ll be tuning in tomorrow to check it out.

Bria Grace was born Monday morning, happy and healthy!

Brian Hall’s agreed to work on the score for the film.  When I got back from LA there was 3 hours worth material waiting for me to check out.  Here’s one of the themes called Eastern Prayer Surface.  Dig it. 

The UFC is coming to Philly this weekend.   Mark is guest hosting MMA Weekly’s pre-fight show, we’re going to Silva’s after party, and I’ve got a couple interviews set up.  Hopefully I’ll be able to keep busy and end the week with some good content for the film.  I’ll shut things down for a while when Dernlan baby #3 arrives next Monday then get back at it towards the end of the month.

The Uninsurables, who generously backed me on Broadmoor, were fronted by my buddy Paul Doughterty.  Paul’s recently released an extremely impressive solo recording called Grace Under Water which can be heard in it’s entirety at www.pauldougherty.org.  Paul’s an enormously talented fella.  He wrote, performed, and recorded the whole project himself and even did the cover art and design.  His dad was a session musician in Nashville and Paul’s got some of his recordings on the site too as well as The Uninsurables releases.  A lot of great music over there, definitely worth checking out.

Just about ready to wrap the last couple days out here in LA and get back East.  Had the opportunity to meet some inspiring people and been able to spend some time with family too.   Got some nice content for the film.  Some of the stuff I thought would be significant turned out kind of flat while other characters and circumstances have pushed themselves forward.  I’ll  be returning in the Fall to catch the final act of this particular story.   I’ll be interested to see what happens.

I met Michael Miller several years back when he performed at Manayunk Music Exchange, a guitar shop and performance space I owned in Philly for a while.  He’s an LA guy and I was hoping to catch a show while I was out here.  Turns out he’s on a Midwest run of dates supporting his new release.  He’s gonna be in Springfield and Delaware, Ohio this week.  Thought I’d give a heads up to my people back there.  This guy’s absolutely fantastic.  If you’re able to, try to take in one of his shows while he’s in the neighborhood.  Check out his site at www.michaelmillercrusade.com for the specs on the dates.  He’s got some tunes up on his myspace too.

Been out in Hollywood for the past few days working on the FightShark film.  Had a couple of great interviews with some of Mark’s people out here.  Very happy with the way things have  been going. 

Heard we had 24 days of rain in June back in Philly, pleasant  change of environment being here in Southern Ca.  I could get used to this for sure.
